It was such a fine opportunity to visit the National Museum of Oman despite living here for many years. The National Museum of Oman is located in the heart of Muscat in Muttrah near corniche. Housing thousands of heritage items, the museum prides itself of intricately collected items from culture to arms, from maritime to living and varieties of artifact collections which depicts the country's heritage from prehistoric times to different period of later times. The museum is so well put together that visitors couldn't help but admire the inventiveness and initiative of the people behind such display of country's treasured items.

Aside from the collection of artifacts the museum is equipped with many entertaining facilities that include a UHD cinema which shows video clips about Omani culture and drawing section where adult and children alike can express their creativity, among others.

Entry fees are  OMR1 for Omani and GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) nationals, OMR2 for residents in Oman (where the author belongs) and OMR5 for tourists. There are also free entries for children and students up to 25-year-old, the handicapped, and those who are 60 years and above.

The National Museum of Oman is a must-visit for the whole family especially if you are living in the Sultanate.

One object among the artifacts that amazes the author is a metal carved figure of an ox like creature with wings and strange hands:) What could be that figure is trying to depict? Any thoughts?

In all, the museum, is an amazing place to visit that one just cannot grasp with mere imagination unless you come and visit. 'Till next! Ciao.
