Beyond just cutting the sun's glare off the eyes, there are way more reasons why you need to wear sunglasses more often. Though I'm not an ophthalmologist, I am sure there are way many practical reasons why you need to wear them, well most of the time. As a laptop or mobile addict, I cannot just go out the house without wearing sunglasses. It is not much about aesthetics though it helps to look good definitely, but the main reason is that I just can't manage to look around without hurting my eyes from the daylight glare.

Here are some benefits of wearing those stylish sunnies everyday:

1. Sunglasses protect your eyes against the sun's UV rays which could otherwise could lead to eye ailments.

2. Sunglasses protect our eye against "blue light" from the solar spectrum, which could increase your risk of macular degeneration.

3. Sunglasses helps our eyes to have comfortable vision from not having to squint.

4. Some people have this medical and psychiatric condition called photo-phobia wherein light causes immense discomfort in the their heads and eyes, hence they tend to use sunnies even indoors!

5. Protection from the elements such as wind, dust or snow. Research shows that snow reflects 80% of UV rays from the sun that can cause "snow-blindness". It is a condition wherein the eyes' cornea has been burnt by the sun rays because of the reflective nature of the snow.

6. People wear sunglasses for safer driving. This is a no-brainer if you are a driver. Being a driver myself, I can't properly concentrate on the road without sunglasses on especially when driving in broad daylight. The glare is just too much to manage in addition to other driving fundamentals.

7. They make you look good! No wonder when you put on sunglasses you achieve an instant symmetry. The dark lenses immediately covers any oddities in one's features. That's because beauty is directly proportional to ones symmetrical facial features. Aside from providing an scaffolding effect to the face by giving it a a sense of boned structure, sunglasses also makes you look, on top of it all, mysterious. And everyone knows that mystery invites attention which brings us to the colloquial wisdom that an air of mystery increases erotic desires because we tend to be drawn to people we can't figure out.
